EMIS WEB UPGRADE PROGRAMME - INFORMATION REGARDING OUR CLINICAL SYSTEM PROVIDER'S UPGRADE TO AMAZON WEB SERVICE:
Practice News: The Practice uses a system called EMIS Web to manage clinical information about your care and health.
This system is provided by a company called EMIS Health LTD who acts as a data processor on behalf of the Practice. EMIS Health LTD also uses a sub-processor which is Amazon Web Services (sub-processor) who act under written instruction from EMIS Health LTD to store the data. Under no circumstances is it technically possible for Amazon Web Services to access any information about you. Should you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact the Practice.

Third party processors
In order to deliver the best possible service, the practice will share data (where required) with other NHS bodies such as other GP practices and hospitals. In addition the practice will use carefully selected third party service providers. When we use a third party service provider to process data on our behalf then we will always have an appropriate agreement in place to ensure that they keep the data secure, that they do not use or share information other than in accordance with our instructions and that they are operating appropriately. We advise all patients with these conditions to be seen annually for a full check.
NHS Health Checks - patients over the age of 75 who do not have annual checks for chronic conditions and have not had a check-up in the previous 12 months are welcome to requests a routine health check with the practice nurses. Patients between the ages of 16 and 74 who have not had either a consultation or health check in the previous 3 years may requests a routine check with the practice nurses.
Cervical Smears - we advise all patients who are invited for a cancer smear to attend for this test. Early detection can mean simple and effective treatment. All patients attending for this test should receive a letter from the Health Authority advising them of their results.
Childhood Immunisations - if your child is due to attend for immunisations you should receive a card from Coventry Childhood Immunisation Team to remind you to make an appointment.
It is important that you attend at the arranged time - please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot keep your appointment. Please bring your child's Red Book with you.
Child Health Checks - these are by appointment which should arrive in the post within 2 weeks of baby’s arrival – please let us know if you do not receive your baby’s appointment. Please remember to bring your Red Book with you. It is important that you attend at the arranged time - if not please remember to cancel your appointment in good time.
Ante-Natal Clinic - this is organised and held by the Midwife and an appointment is essential - check the section under Opening Times to see when the clinic is available.
Teenage Health - teenagers aged 14 or over are welcome to discuss any problems or concerns - our practice nurse may be able to help or advise. All patients should have booster Tetanus & Polio immunisations at school leaving age.
Chlamydia Screening - by appointment with the nurse.
Minor Surgery - there is often a waiting list for this and we will contact you either by phone or letter when an appointment is available – it is important that you let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include assessment of which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting enabling us to determine which vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required with the practice nurse. Most patients require a second appointment and this needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
Should you require forms of any kind completing leave them with our receptionist with your phone number. Usually doctors are able to complete these without you but they will phone you if they need more info, this frees up consultation time for those who are ill.
Any such work is not NHS work and NHS consultation time should not be used.
